One thing that scares me in : JANUARY

For you, blogger friends, who can't catch me on this title, please click here where I made this year challenge for myself. Not that my life that boring (far from that, really) or I am dying or I am in a rut so I need to challenge myself....but then I think, I don't live forever. I have to try something new once in awhile, while I still get the chance.
And what would be better than a scary new thing? (at least to me). The bright side is, I can tell my grand kids, been-there-done-that to more activities, place or food, right?
Like I said before, I'll try to do one thing every month. (Just typing that sentence makes me want to take a nap). And for this month :

I did a giveaway in my blog for the first time.

The post is here (and you still get the chance to win the giveaway until Feb 15). Many thanks to Lisa Swifka that sparks the idea, so encouraging that I eventually dare to start.

Now, you must be laughing. That is NOT a scary thing to do, you must say! That is easy! You can do giveaway whenever you want!

Let me tell you the things that scares me.

One.
Giveaways on blog is like a candy for little kids. (So I thought) After you ate the candy, you will never care what it is for dinner. It is tempting but not satisfying.
People will drawn to your blog ONLY for the giveaways, not to enjoy your posts. That's sad. Almost as hurt as when you have toothache for too much candies. Ouch. (So I thought).

Two.
I never won a giveaways or lottery or something easy pacey like that. So I simply don't believe it. Everything is come through hard work for me. How can I hosting something that I don't believe?

Three.
How if no one want your giveaway? Dang. That scary enough, alright?
(Or maybe I just read too many Ali Edwards's giveaway that drawn at least 1000 people to each post). Sigh.

And the result?
While I still can't figuring out why my name is still not on the list of Lisa's giveaway ticket holder event, after 4 emails I sent her including asking her what's wrong with my link, with no answer, I decided that after all, my goal is achieved, I had been brave enough to conquer my own fear. Everything else is secondary.
Only last week I already met lot of wonderful blogger (both from Indonesia and far away places) that came to my blog and leave warm comments and I visited many inspiring blog of theirs too. So many kindred soul out there, waiting for the right time for our path to be crossed. And our life will never be the same.
That for me, is like icing on the cake. Sweet and satisfying.

And yes, I'll do the giveaways again sometimes in the near future.
You have my word.

P.S. I Love you - scrapbooking beginner class

These were a bunch of scrapper that I talk about yesterday. They attended my class (missing three of them who were sick and couldn't make it), with such enthusiasm. More than one of them were even doing scrapbooking for the first time in the class! Gladly they all could make it without being overwhelmed. We dressed in pink to set the mood for love...(since this is a love album for sure!)...or at least tried to....LOL. One of them, Lea, have to take her son too....what a great mom, she can spend a quality time with her son and for herself (talking about multitasking all the time, remember?) Recess time, scrapper....put down all the scissor and glue....let's dig in the yummy lunch! And break time is always be the best time to relax and making some new friends!
Back to the tables, ladies.....let's finish the task! When all were busy sticking their pictures (and a little bit slowing down after the full lunch phase)....I took out a can of door prize papers that I already prepared at home....and the prize are two tickects....with a treat of 50% discount on my next class! Suddenly the room was full of excitement.....and here were two lucky winners : And before the tables become messier and messier.....I have to stop the class at 3 p.m due to the schedule (already extend for one hour...) and closing the day with a demonstration of photo transfer technique to the laminate sticker. And everyone can bring one sheet of the laminate sticker back home to play! Yippeee.... Thanks again to you dear scrappers.....until we meet again in my next class :)

My life as interior decorator

In order to not wasting my architectural degree, (yes, I got architectural degree, not scrapbooking degree.LOL.) I sometimes do interior decoration to help finishing up my husband's project (he is the one who do the real architect job).
Like this food court that he and his friend did. Almost finish (it will be open in few days), but he got no clue in whatsoever thing to put in this space : So, they asked me for help last week. And this is the result :
Lovely, right? I love it.
A girl who love vintage so much would put every vintage things here! No surprise! LOL.
There are two floor of that food court and my weariness is on the top at the end of the day. Really. But happy. And happier when the owner come and delighted with the idea and the finished decor. Thanks God.
Here are the process of the day and some of the details that I love...
If you are local, come and visit this lovely place with lots of yummy food (and I really mean yummyyy) at Kartika Sari - Jajanan Kebon Jukut - Bandung. It will be open on Sunday 31st Jan.
