July 2009 - Life Project (Art Journal)

I promised myself to make Art Journal sometimes ago. I even posted the wish here, I remember. I buy the papers and the supply all right, but still no go. I also encouraged my scrapbooker buddies to make it, even make a deal to exchange the Art Journal once they finished (which I got already on last scrapgathering). The deal begin from Dhani's idea to barter our art journal that we made especially for the person.Then...seeing those pages at home...bring some sparks of inspiration that really made me doing it the next morning.
The beauty of recording your voice and your thought without photos (or with it, either way...)...is refreshing.
In about a week, I made two sides of 7 pages, which are mean 14 pages in all....boy oh boy.
So, here we go....for this month Life Project, I dare you to try it for yourself.
Surely I will make some more every month, switching from my scrapbook pages and my paintings from time to time. Oh, I just love it.
Here is my 2nd page.
I got this small tag from Starbuck long time ago. Now I put it on a good use on my 3rd page.

I put my fav ad from mag on my 4th page. Just simply tear it and add some more layer to it.

Do you have some time to play? I did. Here is my 5th page.

Do you proud about your heritage and ancestor? I say it out loud on 6th page.

This 7th page is simply a cute ad that I could not resist to tear out. Of course I change about what she says *wink*.
When I think about inspirational life, I think about these things on 8th page.

I don't like housework. I don't like housework. I don't like housework. That would be a strong message, wouldn't it? Here is my 9th page.

We are shaped by what we love, day by day. My 10th page.

When I looked out for some more tags for these pages, I found out these pictures that I haven't got a chance to scrap. It's me and Nunun, my best buddy, when we are looking for her restaurant's decoration, and one more is when we all rushed it before the next day opening until 3 a.m. Oh, such a sweet memories! I decided to put them on my 11th and 12th pages for me to remember forever.

Do you want to be healthy? My tips on this 13th page for you.

More tips about healthy body on my 14th page.
It doesn't have to be good.
It just have TO BE at all.

Two layouts

I had this Bisous paper for quite some times, but then when I re-opened my stack of papers the other day, it jumped out to my eyes..wanting to be used. It really useful to play with this kind of patterned paper, the ready-to-stick-photo kind of paper, especially when your days are packed...but you think you can make one layout for just one hour tonight...before you get doze out in tiredness. Oh, come on.
All I have to do was matting the picture with some canvas, color the chipboard black since my white chipboard seem too blend with the paper background, then sanded them for vintage feel. Last thing to do : journal it!
Really, it's not even one hour.

One layout a day is not too demanding, right?
So the next night I did one more layout using Prima transparency. When all the hard works are already done for you, don't make it too complicated.....

I put the layout standing so you can see through the transparency.

Life is simple,

but men insist on making it complicated

Having fun with the girls at scrapgathering

Today's project is to finishing up the "Documenting life in a week project"...but since just me and Alice who done it all, we find something else to do for the day. My friends finishing up these journal pages that I asked last month from them! Aren't they amazing? You should go to their blogs to check all them out. I was just thrilled and honoured.
Here are some of our 'art' time :

And here are some of our 'fun' time :
(Girls, huh? Yup. And you are wondering why you're seeing so many red in these pics? That's our dress code, silly.)
Phew!

Thank you Alice for such a nice place for us to hang out....Thank you girls for such a lovely time and for so many food on the table..... Till next scrapgathering!
